BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is the first major British music festival of the year and always attracts big UK and worldwide artists. This year BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend will take place at the Vaynol estate on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 May. There will be live music across four stages with performances from Dizzee Rascal, Stornaway, Vampire Weekend, Crystal Castles and many more acts.
Across the Main and In New Music We Trust stages there is a varied mix of UK and international artists - from household names, to brand new artists championed by Radio 1's specialist DJs.
A new addition for 2007 was a third stage where Radio 1 dance and specialist DJs played with special guests. While in 2008 the BBC Introducing stage appeared, showcasing unsigned talent.
Acts that have played previously at Big Weekend include:
The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal, The Raconteurs, Franz Ferdinand, Basement Jaxx, White Stripes, Maximo Park and more.
