The Duckworth Lewis Method's Ivor Novello Award nomination
Recorded both in Dublin and a stump’s throw down the road from Lord’s in Abbey Road Studios, the album - featuring the singles ‘The Age of Revolution’ and ‘Meeting Mr Miandad’ - was released in July 2009, just a few days before the start of the 2009 Ashes series.
On receiving news of their nomination Duckworth and Lewis commented:
“We, the Duckworth Lewis Method, are politely jubilant to be nominated in the best album category of this year’s Ivor Novello Awards. What joy! What honour! Our hippopotomously titled debut album really was as fun to make as it sounds. And it is to the eternal credit of this august, nay, July institution that ‘a record about cricket’ should be afforded the same opportunities as its less niche compatriots.”
The DLM play at Richard Thompson’s Meltdown Festival on the 17th June

Dizzee Rascal receives two Ivor Novello Award nominations
Dizzee Rascal has received not one but TWO Ivor Novello nominations this years awards.
One is for Best Contemporary Song with his number smash hit 'Bonkers' and also a nomination for the Album Award for the 'Tongue N' Cheek' album.
Dizzee also performs at numerous concerts and festivals this year across Europe and the UK.

The Leisure Society receive second Ivor Novello Nomination
Nick Hemming, one of the chief songwriters in The Leisure Society, has received a 2nd consecutive Ivor Novello nomination.
Nick has been nominated in the ‘Best Song Musically & Lyrically’ category for the track 'Save It For Someone Who Cares', which is taken from the band’s debut album 'The Sleeper'. The award ceremony takes place on Thursday 20th May 2010 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
He was nominated in the same category at last year’s awards for 'The Last Of The Melting Snow'.
The band, now supplemented by Amy May on viola, are currently recording their second LP in a hired tudor house in rural Kent. Bigger, darker & spookier, it will be released through Full Time Hobby.
The band have also announced details of a number of festival dates during the summer. The full list of appearances are as follows:
