High Places UK tour dates and music video


The amazing High Places have confirmed live dates for May 2010 (below). Anyone who has heard their recorded output will know them to be a band of rare and unique beauty, but it's in a live setting that the multi-textured rhythms and playful melodies of their forward thinking dream-pop, are really lifted to new heights.

In their live shows Rob Barber handles the drums, triggering a variety of of percussive sounds with his drum pads, as well as playing hand percussion, wooden blocks with contact mics and singing some ambient vocals. Mary Pearson sings and simultaneously manipulates her vocals with various delay and reverb pedals, whilst playing some hand percussion, recorders and creating and controlling some loops.

The single 'I Was Born' also marks the creation of High Places' first official video (below). The piece was filmed, styled, edited and conceived by Barber and Pearson, and shows their affinity for pairing aural and visual art.
