Maximo Park are going to be doing a show in Newcastle upon Tyne on Tuesday 24th March to celebrate their return to the pop game .
It will be at Newcastle College's Performance Academy (Peter Sarah Theatre), Scotswood Road and will be in association with the local free music paper, Narc. For more info click HERE
They will be previewing loads of new songs from 'Quicken The Heart' as well a hefty dose of Park Classics. One of the main reasons they are doing this show is to raise money for their late friend Jason Boas's charity, No Surrender - at the show the first people in will have the chance to buy one of 250 7"s of the new non-single (!) 'Wraithlike' . These will be the only copies ever available in this country and all proceeds go to the charity.
The charity is called No Surrender after a Bruce Springsteen song and was set up by Jason to help cancer sufferers across the world, including a social network for people affected by cancer.

'Wraithlike' is gathering support from venerable people like Zane at Radio 1 and on specialist music shows around the country, so cheers to those brave people who fancy playing one of the more complex rhythms from the new album.
