Other initial artists confirmed include the unbeatable Sir Norman Jay, The Thievery Corporation - Washington DC's boundary-blurring production masters and their huge live band.
Random Dance will provide cutting-edge contemporary dance soundtracked by sonic experimentalists - and in Portico Quartet The Big Chill have secured the brightest rising stars on the jazz scene.
This announcement follows the confirmation of The ICA, Roundhouse, BFI and Underbelly as content partners for the Festival.
Big Chill Founder Katrina Larkin commented that: "Roll on the summer, we are so happy with the first confirmations as they reflect the quality and diversity of The Big Chill festival.
